We designed this to have a nice flower bed with a solid rock border, defining the area of interest and visually complementing the yard with a bit of organic, nature touch. Using locally sourced Boulders and river rocks, we picked out ones that were top quality, to ensure durability, and that they fit perfectly into the general theme of the environment. The placement of the stone allows for visual structure in the garden while also preventing soil erosion, another common landscaping issue. The sloped yard of the owner was one of the major challenges we encountered in this . In overcoming this our team designed a design in tiers, which gave the flower bed another stage making it much more interesting and dynamic. The soil was painstakingly tamped down and the rock edging reinforced before the winter rains and summer sun could shift things around again, making the design solid for years to come. We chose many colorful native perennials and annuals that grow well here in Southern Illinois to make that vision a reality. These cheerful daisies, elegant lavender, and other flowering plants were selected for color, texture and pollinator attraction to create a high-energy ecosystem. The outcome is a vibrant flowerbed exploding with color year-round, and a place for the Client to retreat from the stresses of life, literally outside their door. At the end of the , the delighted client confirmed the same transformation. The rock edging around the new flower bed was a magnificent feature, making their property look beautiful and a new place for friends and family to get together or just relax.
