Flower Bed and Rock Garden by H&S Professional Lawncare and Property Maintenance This week we finished off a beautiful Flower Bed and Rock Garden that we installed on a residential property in the beautiful city of Edina @ H&S Professional Lawncare and Property Maintenance. The started with an extensive consult to get a sense of how the clients like to use their new space and their lifestyle. We had seen the site and knew what we were up against in terms of some less-than-ideal conditions like lots of uneven ground and shaded spots in places. After leveling the ground and ensuring adequate drainage to avoid any rotting issues for plants, we set choosing an appropriate array of flora that thrived in the amount of sunlight we had available to us. To provide continuously-changing colors throughout the year, we chose a diverse selection of perennial flowers, such as coneflowers, daylilies, and native grasses. The soil and mulch were of high quality and local origin which made plants get all the nourishment they needed. We textured the rocks and boulders that we used to model the rock garden beds bringing in a variety of rocky textures that blended into a naturally arranged inviting rock garden. This layout worked not only visually but also helped with the flow in the outdoor space. We had to ensure the rock garden fit flawlessly with the flower bed thus needing precision and an eye. This was the perfect way to combine natural elements with man made earth, providing the homeowners with a place of retreat and somewhere for their guests to have a visual focal point in the yard.
