This incorporated a complete renovation of an underused yard into a beautiful backyard retreat. The scope included a well-balanced mixture of native plants and colorful annuals, all of which thrive in the local Michigan climate while adding beauty to the eye throughout the year. Also, durable, hand-cut natural stone pathways were laid out to meander through the gardens and create a smooth transition from the home into the well-designed outdoor living space. The clients' custom-built stone firepit, wrapped in beautiful patio seating, became the nucleus of the outdoor living space, bringing families together and helping to enjoy the evening relaxing and enjoying time with friends and family. One of the major challenges of the was the grading and stabilization of structurally stable soils on sloped topography on the site. With skilled heavy equipment operators, we completed extensive grading and soil stabilization. Our goal was to install permeable pavers and biodegradable mulching to most effectively address the water drainage from rains. The detail in the irrigation will keep all the lush planting and restore a healthy habitat while providing a sustainable gardening and water use .
