Seattle RainWise Cisterns by Vireo Design Studio, LLC In the Pacific Northwest, specifically in Seattle, WA, Vireo Design Studio, LLC is excited to share our work on the Seattle RainWise Cisterns a concerning the capture of rainwater for sustainable use and enhancement of the landscape. Serving the entire metro area from Bainbridge Island to Woodinville, we designed and installed well-unified and beautiful cisterns to manage stormwater while creating an attractive solution within the landscape surroundings. The included the installation of two large, custom-designed rainwater cisterns situated to coordinate with roofs on the property for rainwater capture. The cisterns are constructed of sleek, durable materials and designed to fit within the aesthetics of the client's existing landscapes. The rainwater system has a filtration component which removes debris and prevents algae build-up, allowing the rainwater to be filtered clean and ready for irrigation use. One of our 's prominent challenges was the steep slope of the site. As the team, our landscape architects spent much time analyzing contour lines to design a solution that successfully captured rainwater and contributed positively to the landscape and client (specifically, a 's aesthetics). The solution required creative grading and consideration of native plants that will grow well within Seattle’s climatic environment appropriately to minimize ongoing maintenance while maximizing environmental benefit. The combination of these factors yields a sensational, fully functional landscape that fulfills the owner's desires. Not only is the rainwater harvesting system used to reduce the reliance on a city water supply, but the garden becomes thick and lush at all seasons. Ultimately, the construction exhibited the team's construction quality and commitment to our environment through a properly designed product that exhibits beauty, response to water systems, and sustainability. The Seattle RainWise Cisterns is an example of how we can create beautiful spaces that benefit our Seattle community similarly and responsibly and be resilient and sustainable.
