This combines our love of art with our passion for crafting exquisite outdoor spaces while serving the lively communities of Austin, Bee Cave, and beyond! This difficult slope became a beautiful landscape of native plantings and hardscape beautifully executed by our team. Layered to make different levels of the garden, we worked with locally sourced stone and use sustainable materials to design the garden around the home helping support the local ecosystem but also a beautiful feature of the home. The settlement's cleverly designed landscape features a grand mix of drought-tolerant native plants, including colorful wildflowers and beautiful ornamental grasses, to offer an approach to a green landscape that thrives under the Texas sun but uses the least amount of precious water-consuming resources. A challenging aspect of the design process was how to manipulate the natural drainage of the site. We carefully screen built these natural stone retaining walls and terraced beds, both producing erosion control and making the property more attractive at the same time! Not that it seemed like the obvious answer at the time, but while this solution did ensure minimal disturbance to the landscape it also gave the client a practical beauty when it came to an outdoor space. The end product is a balance of form and function, with curving trails that beckon wandering, a calming water feature that provides a peaceful soundtrack, and pockets for seating that promote relaxation and social gatherings.
