Outdoor Lifestyles Stonework At Outdoor Lifestyles, we are excited to share our 'Stonework' , an impressive outdoor transformation that showcases our quality and craftsmanship in landscaping. This took place in Connecticut, completed for an aesthetically savvy customer in Essex Village, who wanted a natural stone theme that unified their outdoor experience. The main feature of the was a large stone patio laid down in locally sourced bluestone, which is a favorite for its toughness and attractive color variations. Our laborers measured and laid each slab with precision to ensure a seamless fit, usable as a gathering space and also relaxing. Elegant stone retaining walls surround the patio, constructed with beautiful fieldstone with a dual purpose of style and function that enhances the life of the surrounding greenery. One of the more noted challenges we faced was the sloped terrain of the property. Our landscape architects constructed a tiered system to help control drainage while maximizing the use of the space, without taking away from the beauty of the environment or design. Native plantings of ornamental grasses and flowering perennials helped soften the hardscape, adding life and color to the stonework while supporting local ecosystem biodiversity. In the end, we were proud to present an outdoor space that delighted our customer. The thoughtful incorporation of varying textures and materials made for a cohesive open space that felt warm and comfortable enough for both family gatherings, and peaceful evenings of solitude. Not only did it enhance the appearance of the overall landscape, but it certainly provided enticement and value. At Outdoor Lifestyles we always aim for attention to detail and pleasing the client.
