By using a nice mix of grading and specific plant placements, we were able to create tiered garden beds that resolved some drainage concerns while also adding varied depth and interest. The habitats of the native plant species were critical for providing visual pleasure and interest year-round while also helping to maintain native biodiversity. We used peeks of annual color with a combination of perennial flowers, as well as ornamental grasses, to keep colorful and textured layers in place throughout each season. An intricate pathway of soft, solar-powered lighting guides visitors through blooms sounding flower beds and around soft peaceful seating all within a landscape designed that is warm and welcoming, even at the dusk hour. In the backyard we also put in a rain garden to help with water runoff while recognizing sustainability, via native/requested wetland plants that filter stormwater and support everyday functionality. This principle recognized quality enhanced with eco-friendly homes for their outdoor spaces, and reduced the maintenance expenses for the homeowner for future care. When the was done, the 'Gardens at Livingston' is an active colorful oasis that is drawing attention to the homeowners as well as their guests.
