South Mountain Nanette Injeski Land Design LLC completed the 'South Mountain' landscaping after careful consideration of the site and the owner's objectives. It is a representation of the combination of nature and art that has been developed specifically for a unique client in the Phoenix area. With the site nestled in the beautiful backdrop of South Mountain, there were challenges due to the slopes and exposed sun sections. Despite this conflicting landscape, our team turned challenges into design solutions while developing the integration of architecture and nature and enhancing the property’s natural beauty while increasing literal function. The consisted of an amazing collection of resilient native plants. The iconic and striking plant material are carefully chosen for medicinal, resilient beauty. The intricately detailed mixture of cacti, succulent shrubs, and ornamental grasses delighted the Arizona climate while creating varying lanes of colors and textures. To enhance the landscape's usability, we constructed multi-level terraces with locally-sourced flagstone to stabilize the slope, as well as create gathering spaces for family and friends to come together. Water was another consideration. We designed and constructed an irrigation that was sustainable in usage and elegance while also promoting the health of the . The irrigation system was carefully considered to allow variation in design with the slopes of the site while reducing water waste. In addition to plant material and irrigation, we constructed a custom, designed outdoor living space complete with fire pit, comfortable seating, and ambient lighting to enjoy an evening of kids under the stars. The mixture of natural stone and contemporary woods enhanced warmth and complement the surroundings. The landscape is truly stunning and enhanced the property while seamlessly integrating with the steep slopes and nature. Our client was extremely delighted with the beauty and the engagement with the nature. The 'South Mountain' allows a true showcase of the splendor of Arizona citizens while acknowledging Nanette Injeski Land Design LLC and its' commitment to quality craftsmanship and innovative design solutions that resonate and educate with it's unique and delicate ecosystem.
