About This Project

The Timbertech 3 Seasons Deck project, located in Ankeny, IA, transformed the homeowners' outdoor living experience and provided an ideal space for year-round entertainment. Originally equipped with a standard wood deck, the homeowners sought to expand and enhance their outdoor area to accommodate gatherings throughout all seasons. The project commenced in 2020, with a budget ranging between $50,001 and $75,000, reflecting the investment in quality materials and craftsmanship. To achieve the desired expansion, we meticulously removed the old deck and constructed a new covered deck measuring 21’x16’ alongside an uncovered deck of 20’x12’. The design choices emphasized both functionality and aesthetics, utilizing Timbertech’s PVC Capped Composite Decking from the Legacy Series. The main decking color, Tigerwood, was elegantly paired with Mocha accents, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that complements the natural surroundings. Safety and style were further enhanced with Westbury’s Full Aluminum Railing in the Tuscany Series, providing a sleek, modern look while ensuring stability and durability. The covered area was thoughtfully designed with screens below the decking to keep bugs at bay, while full glass windows on the walls offer unobstructed views of the exterior landscape, allowing for an airy feel even in enclosed spaces. To elevate the outdoor ambiance, we incorporated strategic decking lighting, including stair riser lights and post cap lights, ensuring that the space is not only functional but also visually appealing during evening gatherings. The ceiling of the covered area features Cedar Carsiding, adding a touch of warmth and sophistication to the overall design. With the completion of the Timbertech 3 Seasons Deck, these homeowners now have a beautifully crafted outdoor sanctuary that allows them to enjoy their Iowa surroundings and entertain guests in comfort and style throughout the year. The project turned out exceptionally well, seamlessly blending design and practicality to meet the homeowners' needs.
