This illustrates our passion for high-quality craftsmanship, and our desire to design functional outdoor spaces that enhance outdoor living. The clients wished for a quiet retreat that felt connected to the natural beauty of northern Colorado. To address this, we decided to incorporate high-performing building materials, such as locally-quarried flagstone and natural boulders that would flow with the topography of the site. The patio featured a well-ordered plan that included a built-in fire pit surrounded by custom seating that promoted a cozy environment for family gatherings and winding down in the evenings. Some constraints our team navigated were the grade changes of the site, which required some thoughtful planning and structural engineering to accommodate for drainage and stability. Our talented team planned and designed a multi-level patio which included retaining walls that were built of rugged stone. This not only solved the elevation change, but added a more attractive aesthetic appearance. Additionally, we included lush landscaping to add privacy and soften the hardscape. We selected native perennials and ornamental grasses that thrive in Colorado’s challenging environment, which not only focuses on sustainability, but provides life and beauty throughout all four seasons. The end product was a glorious private patio that surpassed our client's wild expectations. The harmonious assemblage of natural materials, intentional design, and skilled implementation yields an inviting private outdoor space, or personal retreat, for our clients. They can now enjoy the beauty of Fort Collins from their very own backyard, whether it's for entertaining guests, or unwinding from a long day.
