About This Project

The Tucson Texture project exemplifies the harmonious blend of architectural integrity and modern enhancements. Located in Casas Adobes, AZ, this renovation focused on preserving the original character of the home while improving its aesthetic and functional appeal. The existing hardscape was meticulously evaluated, resulting in the removal of unnecessary elements while retaining the classic dark brown Saltillo tiles. This careful sourcing of materials allowed for seamless integration where additional tiles were required, thereby maintaining a cohesive look throughout the space. To optimize functionality, we reimagined the shade structure by transitioning from high-maintenance wood to durable aluminum, significantly enhancing its longevity and reducing upkeep. This choice not only improved the structure's performance but also provided a sleek, contemporary touch that complements the outdoor environment. Additionally, we connected the office area with a corresponding shade structure, creating a unified outdoor experience that encourages relaxation and productivity. The design choices made during the Tucson Texture project were intentional and thoughtful. We introduced contrast by cladding select surfaces in deep-colored stone, notably on the newly constructed outdoor kitchen and retaining wall. This striking feature adds visual depth and sophistication, transforming the outdoor space into an inviting area that draws attention and admiration. The culmination of these modifications resulted in a sun-drenched oasis perfect for lounging and enjoying the pool. The expansive layout, enhanced by the strategic placement of hardscape elements, has created a much more usable area that caters to both relaxation and entertainment. Overall, Tucson Texture not only embodies aesthetic appeal but also reflects a commitment to craftsmanship and quality that stands the test of time. The outcome is a stunning outdoor retreat, ideal for gatherings and personal enjoyment, showcasing the beauty and functionality of well-executed design.
