Residential landscape transformation for a client looking to refresh their backyard paradise. Step 1: Existing Conditions and Vision for Tranquility We started by evaluating the existing conditions and getting a sense of the client objectives for a relaxing retreat. This scope featured a multilevel garden, a custom stone path, and an entertaining area for lounging. We chose quality materials that matched the architecture style of the home for durability and aesthetic reasons. Locally sourced flagstone was used for the pathways, establishing a natural flow through the garden. A mix of native perennials alongside ornamental shrubs are included in the planting scheme for seasonal interest and to support biodiversity local to the area. The problem we had was with the unevenness of the land. We carefully leveled the ground, such that terraces were created which not only beautified the garden but also helped in draining away water. By doing this, all the new plants were suited to their environment. And the end result was nothing less than freaking phenomenal. The client was truly happy with their new space, a new colourful and flourishing garden with plenty of flowers, a lot of greens, and inviting small paths for walking around. She has since transformed the space into an ideal nook for evening gatherings and morning coffee, surrounded by flowers and soft grasses.
