About This Project

3o5 Gardens: Kendall Prairies Located in the center of Kendall, the 'Kendall Prairies' is a beautiful display of the craftsmanship of 3o5 Gardens. Together we took this typical backyard and turned it into a contemporary oasis for the residents of Country Walk, Cutler Ridge, Hialeah and the surrounding communities. The incorporates an array of lush, native plant beds that support biodiversity and require low-maintenance. We chose drought tolerant plantings, like colourful native wildflowers and ornamental grasses, to provide an ever-changing patchwork of colours and textures throughout the year. The meticulously planned landscaping not only makes it more beautiful but also provides homes for local wildlife and encourages a thriving ecosystem. Of course, designing the irrigation system for this site had to overcome the limitations imposed by the region's sandy soil and variable drainage, so we developed a custom system which helps distribute water and promote healthy plant growth. We also added permeable pavers for the patio area so that rain can filter back into the ground, creating greater sustainability while also reducing runoff. At the centre of the Kendall Prairies is an airy outdoor living area that features a bespoke ‘fire pit with seating. This space has become such a special meeting place with family and friends to easily relax outdoors in the evening with a beautiful view of the stars. When the sun goes down, the landscape is illuminated more by placed lights, tastefully bringing warmth to the outside after sunset. From the hardscaping to the materials complementing the home style, our attention to craftsmanship shows up in every detail.
