Somerset Residence C2 | Studio Landscape Architecture are the proud creators behind landscaping design ‘Somerset Residence’. This home remodel, located in Fort Collins, features a peaceful transformation that provides a stunning mix of nature and modern design that reflects the homeowner's dream. We transformed the property to create a functional outdoor space that not only features Colorado-friendly native vegetation for local habitat needs, but also provides year-round beauty. It boasts beautiful hardscaping, such as a custom stone patio made of on-site flagstone, ideal for family and friends to gather. One meandering path meanders through the mostly low-maintenance ornamental grasses encouraging residents and visitors to walk through tiles in this lush landscape. An example of one of those unique solutions is how we overcame the drainage issues with the site by implementing a rain garden that helps with water absorption while also providing a unique feature. This eco-solution is seamlessly woven into the plantings to support biodiversity and highlight our sustainable practices. It culminates in a tranquil external sanctuary that strikes the ideal balance between practical space and visual function.
