Backyard Stream and Woodlot Pond introduction Here is a beautiful drill-down of the 'Backyard Creek and Woodland Pond' by Cascadecopia, LLC, right from the city center of East Olympia. Covering Lacey, the Nisqually Indian Community, Olympia, Tanglewilde-Thompson Place, and Tumwater, our team met the challenge to create a peaceful refuge in connection to the earth. The design includes an easily curving creek that runs through the backyard, natural stone boulders, local plants that have a high ecological value, and ornamental benefits. We used locally quarried stone and native plants to promote biodiversity and use resources sustainably. The first and foremost challenge was blending the pond with the existing terrain. Our proficient crew excavated and contoured that side of the property, making it look natural while accommodating water flow and drainage. We installed a high-tech filtration system that keeps the pond clean and clear so that we can introduce aquatic plants and fish to this uniquely balanced ecosystem. At the heart of the is a woodland pond which is surrounded with greenery and seating areas to entice the clients out into garden space. The gentle trickling of flowing water makes the pond as much of a visual and relaxing space. The end product blew our client away, giving their backyard the perfect spot to retreat to after a long week of work or to host family and friends.
