About This Project

Backyard Oasis and Complete Renovation We are happy to share this transformational effort to turn a suburban backyard into a relaxing oasis that was just what our client envisioned. Joseph Matthew Landscape Inc Design & Build is proud to work within our communities from Baldwin to Great Neck Plaza on a large scope of work that blends function and aesthetics. The included a full landscape renovation that utilized the highest quality materials in natural stone pavers, reclaimed wood, and drought-resistant native plants. The oasis features a custom-designed swimming pool with a travertine patio as the integral foundation for entertaining and relaxing times spent with family. A cascading water feature adds both a sense of peace while serving as a sculpture in the area's original design. As with all properties, we faced significant challenges. Uneven topography presented unique grading, maintenance, and drainage issues. Our trades expertly regraded the site to ensure proper water flow and addressed flooding issues that affected the more delicate landscaping. Our modern irrigation design will continue to maintain the plants, which feature colorfully flowering perennials and ornamental grasses to ensure summer-to-winter interest. The outcome is a stunning outdoor experience that includes cozy seating areas, a fire pit for evening events, and lighting to highlight the surrounding beauty. The client was simply thrilled and stated that the job exceeded all of their expectations and that the site has become their favorite space for family and friends to retreat.
