Wood Fences by Charleston Creative Outdoor Solutions From July to October, Charleston Creative Outdoor Solutions accomplished another beautiful wood fence in one of Charleston's residential historic districts, along with the nearby cities of Charleston Afb and Mt. Pleasant. Each was lovingly designed as a series of custom wood fences that provide an attractive, functional boundary to our client's outdoor space. The materials consisted of high-quality cedar wood, which is naturally long-lasting and provides a solid investment by resisting decay. We designed and built each fence panel out of several sections that the craftsman trout-tacularly assembled using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery for a robust and professional appearance. Also, we treated the cedar with an environmentally-friendly stain to maintain its natural beauty and establish a shield against earth's elements. One challenge was ensuring level and sturdy posts within varying terrain and soil types in each locations. We were committed to using the proper techniques and equipment to ascertain a stable post in coastal winds, followed by supporting our client's request for a more ornamental look for the wood fence. This included working with the client to sandwich a lattice top instead of cutting the top of the boards level, the overall look for their fences really enhanced the surrounding landscape. Upon completion, the finished consisted of beautifully designed wood fences that established both privacy and a sense of safety to the clients outdoor “living room” space. The color, richness, and warm tones of the cedar wood fences contrasted nicely with the natural setting of enclosing greenery. Charleston Creative Outdoor Solutions has established its quality of craftsmanship and detail at two historic housing locations in Charleston, Goose Creek, and several surrounding communities.
