Johnson County Mediterranean Zach's Lawn & Landscaping is excited to present the Johnson County Mediterranean a beautiful landscape conversion that embodies the Mediterranean style in the lush green surroundings of Kansas. Located in historic Johnson County, this perfectly reflects our passion for fine craftsmanship and design innovation throughout the community, from Fairway to Overland Park. Our desire for the landscape was to create a tranquil retreat that connected lovingly placed Mediterranean elements in an oasis of green. We installed terraced gardens featuring drought-tolerant plants, such as lavender, rosemary, and ornamental grasses, while creating an inviting, rustic, but very sustainable garden atmosphere. Pathways in natural stone and rustic tiles beckon visitors through the garden with warmth and make you feel at home at the same time. One of the most significant challenges we faced with this landscape was the grading, as it sloped downward most of the design area. This required careful pre-planning and engineering of the walls and terrace gardens. Our talented team designed and built retaining walls for function and beauty in varying styles and materials that perfectly fit the landscape context. We also designed a custom irrigation system that balanced the need for effective watering while using water efficiently. When completed, the overall landscape made for an ideal spot to relax and unwind. The clients were super excited to have a beautiful outdoor retreat that included comfortable seating and shade from planters and pergolas throughout the garden that would provide gorgeous blooms through the seasons. The Johnson County Mediterranean is a reflection of Zach's Lawn & Landscaping's commitment to fine craftsmanship and creativity while developing relationships and meeting client expectations to bring a little bit of the Mediterranean to the Kansas landscape.
