Miller Residence by Knotty By Nature Landscapes We at Knotty By Nature Landscapes were very excited to make the Miller Residence into an amazing outdoor space that is consistent with the beautiful house architecture in Fort Collins. This exemplifies our passion for creating beautiful spaces and our commitment to craftsmanship and design. The started with the consultation phase, where we listened intently to the client’s vision and lifestyle needs. Our team designed a multi-purpose landscape that brings together native plantings, practical hardscapes and outdoor living spaces. Design elements included a handcrafted high-end stone patio that was built using locally sourced flagstone, which would be perfect for entertaining guests or enjoying quiet moments staring at the stars at night. To enhance color and aesthetics there were a selection of colorful perennials and ornamental grasses that bloom at different times during the seasons for year-round visual interest. There was a custom fire pit with natural boulders to furnish simple seating and evening gathering space. We created transitional spaces within the landscape with a winding route using gravel and stone stepping stones that invite guests to walk through the lush garden and appreciate the natural beauty while offering a comfortable path. Our biggest site challenge was the overall site topography which offered interesting challenges to provide design and grading solutions for drainage and soil stability. Our team, as always, efficiently and professionally provided innovative solutions while ensuring to create a sustainable design with natural materials that worked solid for visual impact. The final result is a stunning landscape that is consistent with the nature of the area and showcases the native plants of Colorado. The clients were thrilled with the proposal. When the proposal was completed, they praised our craftsmanship and design layout as being "ideal for functional outdoor living spaces."
