About This Project

The Coastal Vacation Home project is a stunning transformation of a 90's era house into a serene retreat that captures the essence of beachside living. The client envisioned a space that reflected the coastal aesthetic they desired for their vacation home in Westerly, RI, but sought to avoid a complete overhaul. To achieve this, Collected Spaces was engaged to provide expert guidance in selecting and designing key architectural elements and millwork that would create a fresh and inviting atmosphere. The project scope included a comprehensive update of the home’s interior, where every detail was meticulously considered to enhance the overall coastal vibe. New trim and doors were installed throughout the home, featuring clean lines and a modern style that harmonizes with the beach environment. Wainscoting was added to the main living areas, lending an elegant texture that enhances the visual interest of the space. The stair banisters were updated to complement the new aesthetic, while the fireplace received a thoughtful redesign, complete with new doors, hearth, and mantel that echo the coastal theme. A carefully curated color palette of soft blues, greens, and beiges was implemented for the walls, seamlessly tying together the existing cabinetry, flooring, and the client's cherished furniture pieces. This color scheme not only brings a sense of tranquility but also reflects the natural beauty of the coastal surroundings. The craftsmanship involved in this project is evident in the precision of the millwork and the harmonious integration of the new elements with the existing structure.
