About This Project

Wing House, Park Estates California Eco Design, Inc. is proud to announce the transformation of the landscaping at the Kenneth Wing House in Long Beach, CA located within the posh Park Estates neighborhood. The represents our dedication to sustainable design and quality in the Long Beach, Torrance, Seal Beach and Palos Verdes areas. At the heart of the lies a beautiful drought-tolerant garden with native California plants that both complement the home and reduce the use of water. We used a mix including both texture and color, incorporating California poppy floral highlights at bloom time alongside the graceful forms of succulents, all blended into a harmonious grouping that handles the local climate nicely. A reclaimed flagstone patio were design in multiple levels to create an outdoor living space, rustic in nature to contrast with the homes modern architecture. Strategically placed boulders frame the area as natural seats and also assist with soil retention on the sloping landscape. The earthen slops were a challenge from a grading and drainage standpoint, we did not want the rainwater to concentrate and pool in one place causing erosion. Being the experts that we are, we incorporated a French drain system that encourages healthy growth of the garden while upholding the visual aesthetic of the beautiful property. The end result is an outdoor oasis that is perfect for unwinding and entertaining guests! The client was very happy with the complimenting the marriage of functionality with beauty and the attention to detail we exhibited throughout. Such a transformation added a huge boost to curb appeal, while also staying true to our goal in providing sustainable landscaping solutions to the home landscape.
