Pikesville Backyard and Front Yard Patio Design by Valley Deck & Patio Valley Deck & Patio is thrilled to showcase the amazing transformation of a residential property in Pikesville as part of our 'Backyard and Front Yard Patio Design' . This was a wonderful endeavor of integrating hardscapes and softscapes in a manner that creates an enjoyable outdoor space which is both beautiful and functional. In the front yard, we created a lovely stone walkway to the front door, complemented with flower beds bursting with colorful perennials and ornamental shrubs. The natural flagstone and permeable pavers not only looked attractive, but also contributed to sustainable drainage; which means significantly less overall upkeep for a clean appearance. The challenge of a sloped yard was taken into consideration and designed to overcome the slope by creating a level, accessible walkway that is inviting to all guests. Next, we tackled what we like to call, the backyard entertainer zone. In the midst of a spacious patio made with durable/non-slip pavers that came together as a fantastic centerpiece for a group gathering or a quiet evening spent under the stars, was a custom designed firepit embellished with seating for an inviting and warm ambiance. Intentional lighting highlighted the beauty of the landscaping in the night while illuminating the outdoor dining and seating areas. One complication the team dealt with was that the clients had wanted to preserve an older tree already existing. We approached this very creatively and resolved any conflict through the use of a wooden deck to be placed around the existing tree. While also preserving the natural environment of the landscape; we created an experience that will be pleasing for years to come through planting softscape materials including shrubs and seasonal/succulent flowers so that clients could experience an array of color changes all year! At the end of the day, the results of the exceeded expectations and a memorable outdoor space resulted which truly met their needs.
