The Kirby Sun Porch project transformed the outdoor experience for our client in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, who desired a functional yet aesthetically pleasing space that allowed her to enjoy the outdoors while being shielded from the elements. The original challenge stemmed from an unsightly patch of rock and dirt in her yard where grass struggled to thrive due to constant shading. To address this, we conceived a design that intricately combined a sunroom with a low deck platform, effectively enhancing both the landscape and the utility of the space. The sun porch features two elegant doors and four windows, all designed to open, providing the client with versatile access to her outdoor environment. This thoughtful configuration allows for an immersive experience, letting in fresh air and natural light while maintaining a comfortable barrier against insects and inclement weather. The craftsmanship involved in this project reflects meticulous attention to detail, using high-quality materials that not only ensure durability but also complement the surrounding architecture. The deck serves a dual purpose: it conceals the previously unattractive area of the yard while creating an inviting space for gatherings and relaxation.
