About This Project

Thomas - Black Residence by Verdant Enterprises Located in the beautiful setting of Isle of Hope, the Thomas - Black Residence truly exemplifies the commitment to quality landscaping that Verdant Enterprises stands for. This was desired by the selective clients to create a relaxing outdoor space that effectively matched their natural setting while offering function and beauty. The design incorporated beautiful native plantings - from colorful azaleas to stately live oaks to the fragrant gardenia - all thoughtfully selected for their viability in a coastal environment. The design added local, natural stone paths and a hand-made brick patio to add an inviting outdoor gathering space. All materials were sourced locally to sustain a natural appearance as well as provide sustainability. Rocky grading and drainage was the most difficult aspect of this , and required many actions to divert water from flowing on the high slope that was immediately adjacent to their house. We came up with a workflow that would allow water to flow naturally down the property. We also added a sophisticated drainage system to channel rainwater to prevent erosion. The center of this outdoor transformation is a grand outdoor living space; an intimate fire pit surrounded by chairs that invited the family to spend their evenings outside, especially under the stars, with some added ambient lights to ensure the area was safe and welcoming. In the end, The Thomas - Black Residence was a beautiful example of a functional outdoor space that entertained our clients. A well-designed space not only enhanced curb appeal, but even more importantly offered a gathering space, a retreat and a great balance between nature and comfort. Our aim at Verdant Enterprises is to offer a level of quality and craftsmanship that enables our clients’ unique goals to be realized and enhances their lifestyle.
