In Aliso Viejo, CA, this reflects a rich palette of planting and hardscaping elements that align with the homeowner’s goals for a warm and inviting space. The design incorporates a lush palette of native plants, colorful flowers as well as hardscapes that include textures, creating a sustainable and visually appealing environment. Locations of stone pathways and low rock retaining walls were sourced locally, enhancing the farmhouse appeal while providing durability and longevity for this garden design. A wooden pergola invites climbing vines, creating a shaded space where families can gather or while away an afternoon. An unexpected challenge was taking a sloped landscape and creating usable and organized planting space. Instead, our team terraced to be able to create the necessary planting environment while reducing soil erosion. A professional irrigation was integrated that conserved water but also fulfilled a need to ensure that all planting requirements were met. The end result is a beautiful outdoor space that the homeowners love with a vibrant herb garden, cozy fire pit and gorgeous blooms throughout the seasons that will be residences to local wildlife. Overall, the Farmhouse Eclectic has provided increased curb appeal with a feel for the homeowners to enjoy the memories that will develop.
