- Driveway Entry At DSTscaping and RLC Construction, we enjoy taking ordinary outdoor spaces and creating them into beautiful, functional landscapes. One of our most recent s, called ‘Driveway Entry’, is a great example of what we stand for as a company in terms of quality, service and overall customer satisfaction. In this , located in Pleasanton, we created an attractive entrance at the front of the home that combined design elements with utility. By rebuilding their driveway, we greatly improved upon the general curb view from the street. The original driveway was quite old and unsightly. Our team installed high quality, permeable pavers to create the surface of the driveway. The pavers are attractive and durable but they are also porous enough to allow for drainage of rainwater. Best of all, it is smooth, dark in color and adds to the overall aesthetic of the landscape. To further enhance the appeal, we included beautifully landscaped borders of native plants and ornamental grasses. The greenery adds bright colors at different times of the season while requiring minimal amounts of maintenance. The accent lighting we added along the entire edge of the driveway also adds a lovely, warm feeling in the evening time as well as safety. The was not without its challenges and we experienced some difficulty with an uneven surface area which required us to grade the surface area, allowing for a smooth, leveled surface. Our teams experience allowed us to overcome the challenges by strategically using equipment, unit pavers and techniques to create a flawless driveway entry. We also included large, natural stone boulders as an accent further down the pathway and this rustic feature contrasted nicely with the modern paver layout. Once we finished, our client was overjoyed to have a driveway entry that functions well. The added attractive curb appeal as well as increased value to their home.
