Cap Cod Surrounded by Native Gardens Burke Brothers Landscape Design/Build is pleased to present a beautiful transformation in the heart of Pennsylvania - the 'Cape Cod Surrounded by Native Gardens, this serves a range of communities from Abington to Bala Cynwyd and West Chester, and provided a custom designed landscape that is consistent with the home's coastal architecture style, while infusing the beauty of our native landscape plants into the . This employed a seamless approach using native plants that were spotted for low resilience in planting and low maintenance which creates a sustainable landscape and habitat. In the , we used organic materials imported from locally sourced stone and reclaimed wood to create inviting walking paths and rustic borders around the gardens. These materials provide both aesthetic interest, and help create habitat for different wildlife species. A major challenge throughout this was the level of change between points within the site, requiring development of multiple grading and drainage solutions to manage pooling water on site and help promote healthy plant growth. Burke Brother's skilled team overcame these challenges with precision, and developed a landscape that not only flows well but also creates functional use of space with specific plant species recommended and curated for the area. The end product is a color and textural explosion, on full display from the bright lively dancing wildflower plants to the lush greenery returning the rugged quality of a Cape Cod retreat feel. In curating the native gardens, we have created additional character to the property's curb appeal while also providing a much needed source for local ecology for pollinators and other wildlife.
