Valencia - Santa Cruz Dinsmore Landscape Company is excited to share the completed 'Valencia - Santa Cruz' , a stunning transformation that exemplifies our quality of landscaping and design. Located in the beautiful coastal city of Santa Cruz, this highlights our ability to design outdoor spaces that connect with nature while meeting our clients' expectations of functionality and beauty. This was a complete re-design of the existing landscape, integrating a mixture of California native plants, drought-resistant plants, and colorful flowering shrubs. We hand selected the materials used including natural stone paths and sustainable hardwood decking that would be durable and aesthetically pleasing. Utilizing a calm water feature would enhance the surroundings, creating a tranquil environment while attracting local wildlife. The challenge of steep terrain with rocky soil, typical of the Santa Cruz area, was one of the most significant challenges we faced. Nonetheless, our quality team employed some creative grading methods and built tiered planting areas with locally-sourced stone retaining walls for drainage and soil stability. While offering a creative approach to landscapes with a topography challenge, the design provided more usable space for entertaining. The end result is a breathtaking landscape that reflects the natural beauty of the surrounding area yet provides a welcoming retreat for all family gatherings. The clients were ecstatic that the hardscape and the softscape complemented each other, providing function and beautiful views from every angle.
