Porch by Reese's Landscape Nursery Located among the rolling hills of Jefferson County, West Virginia, the Porch by Reese's Landscape Nursery brings our desire to create beautiful outdoor areas, reflective of our clients, to life. This remodel was a transformation from a poorly used porch space to a vibrant oasis with both functionality and beauty. The involved laying gorgeous stone pavers, both durable and with natural beauty that led visitors onto the porch. Surrounded by masses of native plants (like perennials and ferns), chosen not only for color throughout the seasons, also for their resilience in the climate, families can now gather within a warm, secure landscape. These areas enhance privacy while also attracting some of the local pollinators. A major barrier we dealt with was poor drainage and water pooling around the foundation of the home. With experience creating this type of landscape, we graded the area, delivered the landscape away from the home, and seamlessly integrated an unobtrusive drainage system to disperse the water moving away from the home underneath the design and adds to the overall aesthetics of the garden. Lastly, we stained some custom cedar planter boxes to match the exterior stain of the house to finish the with more updated materials in ease of planting and outdoor design. Our clients were thrilled with the product of their investment and features of a newly landscaped porch that was able to be used for family gatherings and events. A strong collection of materials, thoughtful design, and craftsmanship has encouraged outdoor enjoyment for relaxation or gatherings.
