About This Project

Centerport Landscaping| Main Street Nursery. A dynamic landscape enhancement that changed the outside space of this property, tucked away in this quiet coastal community set back off of Main Street in Centerport. The idea was to combine functional outdoor space with the breathtaking natural beauty of a coastal habitat to suit the homeowner's lifestyle. We also built a gorgeous locally quarried bluestone path to connect the house and garden, a functional and beautiful place to walk. The lush native plantings were selected to add color and texture throughout the year while providing habitat for biodiversity. The result was a living tapestry of plant life, with the native ornamental grasses, hardy flowering perennials and evergreen shrubs that are best suited to that climate." One of the most difficult hurdles we had to overcome was the slope of the land that the property is situated on and how we would handle erosion control and drainage. The wall garden which is the main focus of our efforts, has a series of tiered gardens within it, made using natural boulders and reclaimed timber for retaining walls that allowed to form an integrated landscape with surrounding. At the heart of the layout, there is a custom built fire pit with a natural stone seated area for both a social and evening hangout. Low landscape lighting was incorporated beautifully to accent higher points and illuminate the space safely and enjoyably at night time. Main Street Nursery gave a beautiful landscape to the new owner with attention to detail and strong craftsmanship that the client was expecting and even more. The end result is a bright new patio that reflects Centerport and a wonderful place for family and friends to escape for the next decade or two.
