Sands Point Residence - Morell Landscape Associates The Sands Point Residence , situated in the beautiful Sands Point, New York, showcases the landscape design expertise of Morell Landscape Associates. The purpose of this was to transform the estate into a tranquil sanctuary that seamlessly blended with the natural terrain. The design language consisted of a well-balanced combination of native plantings, hardscape appointments, and usable outdoor living spaces. Highlights of this zone were a custom-cut bluestone patio from one of the nearby quarry yards, providing a beautiful gathering site for the family and entertaining, and OOcational natural granite retaining walls that further enhanced aesthetics and managed the dynamic slopes on the site. One of Morell Landscape's key objectives was tackling drainage issues caused by steep site slopes. Morell Landscape assisted in prepping and installing a drainage system that considered permeable paver installation, including rain gardens, which allowed the emergence of a sustainable landscape while addressing the essential natural drainage. Morell Landscape Associates captured the entire experience along with the beauty of the ornamental grasses, flowering perennial herbaceous plants, and mature trees that enhanced interest and biodiversity. Additionally, Morell Landscape Associates incorporated a koi pond with a natural stone waterfall, which created an appealing sound that adds to the experience of outdoor living. Ultimately, the influence of the installed landscape completely changed the landscape and maximized the value of the residential lot while providing homeowners with a peaceful retreat. The homeowner was extremely pleased with their landscape design and made sure to compliment us after the final reveal. Now the client has a beautifully curated space that reflects their lifestyle and enjoyment of outdoor living.
