Oakland Hill of Sundown Gardens Located in the beautiful community of Westfield, Oakland Hill is one of the finest examples of professional landscaping created by Sundown Gardens. The was intended to both enhance the beauty of the site as well as create a comfortable outdoor living space for the homeowners. The flaunted a mixture of native plants, well-designed hardscaping, and thoughtfulness. Sundown Gardens deliberately selected drought-tolerant perennials and ornamental grasses that would bloom and provide seasonal colors without an overload of water use. Local stone was included for the pathways and retaining walls not only to add interest but to reinforce the surrounding area. A real challenge was the uneven grade of the site. The team came up with imaginative approaches to create the aesthetic as well as a functional landscape. They installed a tiered garden with raised beds and used natural contours to add visual interest and drainage. The two solutions, in totality, gave the clients a lot of space for gardening and outdoor entertaining in the overall design. To top things off, the team provided an exceptional outdoor living room with a custom fire table that includes seating for guests to enjoy during cool nights and to hang out under the stars. In the design, they used durable, weather-resistant materials and careful consideration to light the area for enjoyment after dusk. At completion, the homeowners were thrilled to have their outdoor space transformed into a unique paradise for relaxing as well as nature.
