About This Project

Mount Bonnell Perched atop the Austin heights is the Mount Bonnell by Blissful Gardens & Green Dragon Design. This giant landscaping took a bulky slope and turned it into a beautiful paradise that perfectly blends with nature. This utilized a tiered garden concept, with locally sourced plants that can withstand local conditions while still looking good. Drought tolerant flowers and greenery are thoughtfully placed to create colorful focal points in the yard that highlight the stone pathways that freely flow through the landscape in both utilitarian and ornamental capacities. The biggest hurdle here was the sloping site that needed creative terracing solutions for drainage and soil. We also retained walls of local stone to add structural solidity and a visual quality to the garden. We also included a peaceful water feature that brings in local wildlife while providing soothing sounds. The end product is exquisite functionality and artistry, with every detail expressly designed to frame the views of the surrounding topography. This delighted the client, as we emphasize quality craftsmanship using sustainable practices.
