About This Project

Third Cliff Residence Presenting the Third Cliff Residence another award winning landscape by Coyle & Caron Landscape Architecture. Located in Winter Park, Florida, this was framed to feel a sense of luxury in the nature by blending with the surroundings and providing a peaceful sanctuary for the homeowners. The new design features a spectacular multi-level terrace that flows naturally into the existing landform. We built decorative as well as structural retaining walls to prevent soil erosion using limestone sourced right from the site. Bedecked in color full indigenous plants such as lantana, gardenia, coontie and other lush accoutrements that will flourish in the Florida climate. The site had some of the biggest challenges to deal with, drainage being one of the main ones. Coyle & Caron created a rain garden, designed to filter and intercept stormwater runoff, that meets the ecological footprint benefit while adding an interesting feature to the site landscape. As a result, this proactive solution not only tackled immediate flooding concerns, but also created a rich habitat for native wildlife. The end product is a stunning environment that impresses the clients while also serving the function of adding true value to their outdoor living area. Generous areas for lounging among verdant plantings and lit by gentle, soothing lights encourage leisure and entertainment. A custom fire pit adds a nice gathering place, allowing for year-round enjoyment of the space. Coyle & Caron Landscape Architecture has made a beautiful, functional, and sustainable oasis out of a difficult site at 'Third Cliff Residence.'
