About This Project

The Homeside Lane project in Scarsdale, NY, transformed an outdated ranch kitchen into a vibrant, modern space that reflects the eclectic style desired by the homeowners, a couple downsizing for a more functional living environment. The original kitchen was cramped and uninspiring, posing a challenge to create a light and airy atmosphere suitable for a family of four. Recognizing the need for more functional space, we strategically reconfigured the layout, taking full advantage of every available inch. One of the key design choices involved relocating the large refrigerator, which previously dominated the room, by integrating it into a custom-designed cabinetry unit. This alteration not only improved the kitchen’s flow but also allowed for the installation of a new window, flooding the area with natural light. To further enhance the space, we pushed back a wall in the adjacent laundry room, effectively expanding the kitchen area and creating a more open feel. The overall design was tailored to accommodate the family's lifestyle, with cooking areas concentrated at one end of the kitchen, while the opposite end was dedicated to entertaining. This thoughtful layout ensures that the family can enjoy both culinary activities and social gatherings seamlessly. The use of Kountry Kraft Cabinetry provided not only aesthetic appeal but also durability and functionality, fitting the homeowners' desire for simple yet stylish storage solutions. Incorporating GE appliances ensured that the kitchen is equipped with modern conveniences, while the addition of an XO hood added a touch of elegance and efficiency to the cooking space. The outcome is a beautifully balanced kitchen that combines practicality with contemporary design, allowing the family to live, cook, and thrive in their new home. The transformation of Homeside Lane stands as a testament to the craftsmanship and attention to detail that can elevate a traditional kitchen into a dream culinary space.
