Stone Design at Landscape Concepts of Fairfax, Inc. At Landscape Concepts of Fairfax, Inc., we proudly completed the 'Stone Design' , where we turned the suburban yard into a beautiful outdoor space for elegant outdoor use. Serving the wonderful suburban communities of Alexandria, Annandale, Arlington, and beyond, we did not hesitate to challenge our team with incorporating stone elements to beautify the property while ensuring these products were a durable solution. This not only had a professionally designed stone pathway, created with locally sourced flagstone, that elegantly cut through lush green grass and vivid flower beds, but we also invited our skilled artisans to lay the stones in a pattern that complemented the natural contours of the landscape. The natural stone pathway also created a seamless transition from the home’s exterior to the beautiful garden. As an added bonus to break up the yard, and again provide for an enriched outdoor living space, we built a beautiful stone retaining wall, offering dimension while supporting the grading and soil of the surrounding area. The wall was built with granite, a wood grade product well known for durability and ability to withstand natural elements outdoors with little maintenance. Throughout the process, we faced different challenges, including unevenness of the yard and existing drainage problems. Despite these challenges, our team utilized well thought out solutions, putting proper drainage systems in place, and grading the yard appropriately to address water runoff. This helped to ensure the long term protection of the landscaping, and integrity of the stone features. The final product was a beautiful landscape that made our client super ecstatic and that provided for both beauty for outdoor living along with function. The placement of the ambient lighting into the stone features enhanced the magical close of night look for outdoor living, especially when weaving natural stone into the surrounding plantings and colors. The overall transformation of the landscape not only beautified the home and yard, but created a relaxing retreat to enjoy year-round.
