The bluestone patio itself is geometrically circular and was placed by hand with thoughtful consideration to the color variations and textural qualities from bluestone quarried from sustainably managed quarries. Not only does the bluestone contribute to the beauty of the , it is also durable against the harsh, New England seasons and climate. The circular shape pushes residents and visitors to flow naturally into the patio, allowing people to easily engage with one another in a laid back style, ideal for socializing, entertaining family, and relaxing. Another challenge during the installation process was the unlevel terrain of the site. Our team graded the site so that the patio could be installed with a stable base in mind to avoid any future sinking or stability issues. Further, a discrete drainage system was tied into the overall plan of the patio so that any rainfall could be redirected through the hardscape without, erosion issues or maintenance of the surrounding landscape. Finishing the patio were plantings of ornamental grasses and shrubbery providing color and textural variety throughout the seasons. The overall successfully integrated both hardscape and softscape elements into a finished that provided our clients with the outdoor space they envisioned, while providing an added quality to the overall aesthetic of their property.
