Gardening in the Shade by Garden Creations, Inc. Garden Creations, Inc. recently finished this delightful landscaping called Gardens in the Shade located in the beautiful areas of Avon, Beaver Creek and Edwards. This turned a dark & dirty backyard into a lively oasis and demonstrated our capability in providing lush, shaded natural backyards. It was up to our team to create an impressive landscape that flourished with little light, but also worked to highlight the natural beauty of the site. This is to say, we chose a mix of shade-loving planters, which included a lot of ferns, some hostas, some astilbes for texture, and colors that would perform over the seasons. Using quality, organic soil amendments to enhance maximum growth of these plants. Other distinct and subtle natural stone pathways were scattered throughout the , encouraging visitors to walk through and appreciate the beauty of the garden. They paths were compacted with local flagstone which serves as a durable appealing natural choice that seamlessly integrates with the site. We also put in some custom wood benches underneath the large canopies of mature trees where they could be useful for sitting and contemplation. Although there were challenges along the waysuch as uneven/steep terrain and other existing roots to work aroundthe final roots were carefully planned and dealt with creatively. We worked through these challenges thanks to our talented team who guided us on every aspect of installation with grace and purpose. The end result was a beautiful garden with areas of shade that complemented our clients vision and more! This combination of intermingled greenery, pathways, and seating made for an inviting space that the clients could enjoy year-round. Overjoyed with the conversion, they have the peaceful hideaway where they can relax and enjoy the environment.
