This landscaping was intended to draw out the natural beauty from their property, but also keeping it functional and sustainable. A custom koi pond was one of the features that really helped this shine. Making the pond an anchor in the garden, this beautiful place allows for a natural stone and integrates water and natural defaulting the pond to move on wildlife. Along with this oasis we have a wide selection of native plants that encourage biodiversity but only need to be watered when they are first planted. Each perennial showcased our colourful flowering perennials, while other plants displayed our various lush fern plants, each meticulously chosen for their durability and local climate adaptation. Challenge The Land Was Bumpy and Hard Our biggest challenge was the unevenness of the land and the rugged, hard soilthat is not suitable for plants and the ejected earth from digging the ponds. Once our team identified these issues, we created a grading plan that alleviated the ponding and ensured proper drainage to level the soil for healthier plant life. We also chose durable but aesthetically attractive permeable surfaces for other types of paths and for seating areas. The end result being a stunning landscape designed to flow with its natural surroundings, providing the client with an outdoor retreat. A pond, carefully nestled among boulders and overhanging with colourful flora provides a place for the eye and the mind to rest. Our client said they are extremely pleased with the renovation and the space has become a perfect space for family gatherings and finding solitude.
