This hardscape was assembled for both function and disassociative purposes for our client's home. Our team created a unique stone patio using high-end pavers sourced from a local supplier emphasizing warm earth tones. Our patio area provides an optimal space for multifunctional outdoor living, entertaining guests, or simple evenings under the stars. Paired with the patio area was a curvilinear pathway using decorative gravel and a designated area for a firepit and seating made of natural stone. One obstacle we faced with this was the slope of the property where the home was located. This required a level of engineering and planning to ensure the design performed properly from a drainage and stability perspective. Our team determined the best plan using a retaining wall product called 'interlocking block'. The interlocking local block product addressed erosion and concerns of bordering the buildings foundation. At the same time, the team installed tiered landscaping that provided stability and depth. Lastly, landscaping was a key feature of this property. The client approved a plan for native, ornamental grasses that required minimal care and had the ability to thrive within the local climate. By design, this made the property more desirable, while also promoting various species of biodiversity. The outcome was a thoughtful hardscape design that practical around the natural features of the client's property. The landscaping proposed to the client added to the appeal, creating a location for enjoyment for years to come.
