The foxglove has colorful, clusters of tubular flowers that grow on tall spikes. Colors range from purple to pink, white and yellow. The flowers can also have various marks and spottings.
Select location with full sun or light shade with moist, well-drained soil. Sow indoors in early Spring and transplant to garden 8 to 10 weeks later. In milder winter areas, may be sown outdoors in late Summer for large for large blooms the following Spring. Cultivate and fertilize soil, firm over seeds, and keep moist. Keep soil moist and fertilize as plants begin spring growth. Remove spikes after flowering to encourage second blooming.
