Far Afield by John de Lellis Gardens Situated within the Greater Boston area, 'Far Afield' is a stunning renovation brought to life by John de Lellis Gardens. This extensive landscaping was designed to enhance the function and beauty of the property while respecting and harmonizing with the natural beauty of the New England landscape. At the center of the design is a beautiful native plant garden, perfectly curated to highlight the flora of the area. We chose a diverse palette of perennial flowers and shrubs that thrive in our climate and attract pollinators to create a colorful habitat. In an effort to be sustainable, we used drought-resistant plants and organic mulch to encourage soil health and conserve water. A traditional stone patio, made from locally sourced granite, is a centerpiece of the design. This durable and timeless feature creates a perfect space for family and friends to gather while advancing indoor and outdoor living. Other elegant features include low-voltage LED lighting that illuminates pathways and highlights the native stonework, creating a beautiful glow for evening entertaining. Throughout the process, we encountered challenges with the uneven terrain and existing drainage issues on the property. Our talented team employed creative solutions, including grading the landscape to manage stormwater runoff and designing a rain garden to not only handle flooding but to add beauty and function to the landscape design. Filled with native wetland plants, the rain garden serves as an educational fixture for the family and their guests. The culmination of 'Far Afield' is a stunning landscape that captures the beauty of New England, providing a place of solace and relaxation for homeowners. The combination of beauty, appeal, function, and sustainability has inspired true liveability that reflects the style and values of the clients.
