Blue Bird Hill Farm This was completed by John de Lellis Gardens. The Blue Bird Hill Farm is the perfect synergy of nature and art in a beautiful Greater Boston landscape. Our team took on the entire 5-acre landscape renovation of the property with both grade and vegetation challenges. The design incorporated beautiful native plants that contributed to the farm's ecological balance and year-long interest in the landscape plan. Sustainable material use was a very important, local quarried stone was utilized for the necessary retaining walls that complemented the surrounding landscape, integrated pathways throughout the property, and a beautifully crafted, wood pergola to create an inviting gathering space and rustic charm, including the addition of beautiful climbing vines. One of the primary complications was controlling drainage around the property, especially in the low-level areas. Our team designed a unique rain garden system that effectively moved the excess water while creating an attractive habitat for food and cover for wildlife. The rain garden not only resolved drainage issues but contributed to the environmental sustainability of the site. The final landscape is a beautiful functional landscape that combines meandering pathways, flower beds, and inviting seating areas; all inviting the user to relax. The client was thrilled with their transformation of a simple farm into a stunning space to enjoy the beauties of nature.
