Punkatasset Hill by John de Lellis Gardens Tucked away in the tranquil landscape of Greater Boston, the Punkatasset Hill is an embodiment of the design and craftsmanship that is synonymous with John de Lellis Gardens. This ambitious took an expansive suburban property and transformed it into a beautiful and verdant destination that integrates nature with outdoor living sophistication. The resulting contained a magnificent collection of native plantings hand-selected, to further the ecological balance of the area while also providing seasonal beauty. We employed a vast design palette of perennials, ornamental grasses and flowering shrubs, all of which would thrive, given the climate, exposure and type of soil in which they were situated. Additionally, we placed hardy trees that provided shade and privacy in order to create cozy outdoor areas. One of the best features of Punkatasset Hill is the crafted stone pathway which was built using granite sourced locally. Not only does this pathway provide a way to experience the landscape but it also gives added visual weight to the garden which contrasts nicely with the natural rolling contours of the property. The terrain proved to be challenging, but our crew was able to level the ground to create a smooth surface while keeping natural boulders to enhance the rustic character over the more predictable design finish. To help broaden the outdoor experience, we added a subtle water feature which flows gently in and through the garden and provides a relaxing soundtrack to the experience of the gardens' wildlife, and yet another relaxing benefit of the outdoor experience. Adding several strands of ambient lighting gave ability to light various portions of the garden which hinted at the gardens' luxuriance and invited an evening gathering. Quality craftsmanship is paramount when executing each . As with all of our designs, we used sustainable practices to ensure that the materials we selected were not only beautiful, but also environmentally responsible. When finished, the is a breathtaking landscape that enhances what it is to be New England neighbors while resettling the client's vision; a breakfast nook with seasonal beauty can now be enjoyed in an oasis of tranquility just steps away.
