About This Project

Scope: St. Peters Fireplace & Outdoor Structure by Petra Masonry Located in St. Peters, the 'St. Peters Fireplace & Outdoor Structure' is a prime representation of the expertise and artistry that Petra Masonry is known for throughout the greater St. Louis region. This beautiful exterior renovation was meant to enhance the client's entertaining area and allow for a seamless connection with the natural landscape. The space included a large stone fireplace from locally sourced granite (one, of course, that can warm gathering with its flame), as well as, a large patio of pavers chosen for their quality and durability. The rich earth tones of the materials combine perfectly with the lush green surrounding the garden. One of the biggest challenges of the was the sloping terrain of the backyard. Our trained crew had to grade the area to ensure it was a good foundation, while still retaining the beauty of the existing landscape. It required some creative engineering to get the proper drainage for the area, and to prevent any pooling of water on the patio or fireplace base. In the end, the result is stunning. The outdoor structure is definitely an inviting and warm feeling for evening gatherings and family occasions. I believe that the clients were thrilled with our integration of the fireplace-NOT only as useful piece of outdoor architecture that blends nicely within their outdoor space, but also as a practical part of their landscape.
