Summary: Webster Groves Fireplace & Structure by Petra Masonry Located in the beautiful area of Webster Groves, the Fireplace & Structure by Petra Masonry exemplifies our devotion to providing quality and craftsmanship through the landscaping and hardscaping process. Not only does this combine outdoor living spaces that create visual appeal and functionality, it also creates outdoor living spaces for those who enjoy entertaining. The design element of this is a custom, locally-sourced, natural stone, patio fireplace. It is the centerpiece of this backyard redevelopment and provides a warm space for family and friends to gather. The surrounding patio is made of durable and weather-safe pavers that are heavy enough to withstand outdoor elements and provide a stylish area for entertaining or lounging. One challenge we faced while developing this property was the slope of the existing terrain. To create level surfaces and to prevent erosion, we included retaining walls. Using reinforced concrete blocks and decorative stone finish, we ensured the structural integrity of the walls while complete the landscaping aesthetic. Including discrete drainage solutions that would keep the fireplace and patio from water intrusion further ensured a long-lasting investment for the homeowners. Our landscaping design included perennial gardens and strategic, vibe-enhancing lights to complete the outdoor living design. Native plants not only enhance the property, but also enhance the natural contradiction where it provides face-value screen to the surrounding properties. In conclusion, we and the homeowners are excited by the finished product, which provides a complete aesthetic and functional outdoor living space. Petra Masonry approaches outdoor living landscapes as an opportunity to create visual retreats that elevate the home landscape for residents, not only in Webster Groves, but also in Arnold, Crestwood, St. Louis, and beyond.
