Retaining Walls by Teddy's Lawn & Landscape At Teddy's Lawn & Landscape, we recently completed a remarkable retaining wall that converted a difficult sloping backyard into an extraordinary outdoor living space for our clients in Westland. This displayed our commitment to quality work and innovative design, representing what we do best. The highlight of this was the construction of several tiered retaining walls, specifically designed to contain soil while defining individual, usable spaces within the landscape. We used great, durable materials like natural stone and interlocking concrete blocks chosen for beauty and durability. The materials worked, not only to establish structural strength but they blended seamlessly into the area and became another beautiful component of the yard. The steep grade of the slope required the to be engineered precisely for drainage and stability. To achieve this, our team used exact and careful measurements of the wall's height, angle, water runoff, and soil pressure. Continuous design considerations resulted in a seamless transition from the upper area to the lower, along with plantings providing an additional depth, color, and life to the space. The outcome was nothing less than awesome. The retaining walls provided the required support for the land and offered terraced levels for entertainment and relaxation. Our clients loved their new outdoor paradise, now displaying beautifully landscaped gardens, pathway and seating area, providing a year-round family gathering space for family and friends.
