In beautiful Basking Ridge, we were challenged to design an attractive garden that would work with the makeup of the land and never suffer from deer problems. We then worked on an extensive plant list of native and deer-resistant plants, including herbs, perennials, and shrubs that grew with the season, to create interest in various seasons and had the added benefit of being unappealing to deer. The use of long-lasting stone pathways and eco-friendly mulch to create defined areas the path that directs the eye through the landscape. It, of course, took some skill from our landscapers along with quality materials. The property had some major grade challenges that needed to use creative grading strategies for correct drainage and plant health. We strategically used contouring to make it more functional but also visually appealing. It ultimately created a perfectly integrated scenery with greenery, flowers and boulders appearing to be part of the overall landscape. As our client giddily came through their new outdoor oasis, they would now be able to enjoy their garden without having to worry if deer would munch on their favorite flowers. The reflects our quality workmanship, attention to detail and our ability to create sustainable nature-based landscapes.
