THEY'RE NOT MERELY GOING IN CARS This was done by Back to Nature Home & Garden Well, in September 2021 the design-build firm Back to Nature Home & Garden gave a good-new example of a similar concept in New Jersey, with its 'Not Just for Cars' , which took an underused driveway and turned it into a beautiful, multipurpose outdoor living area. Our team accepted the considerable challenge of redesigning this area to improve the appearance as well as functionality for the communities we serve from Bedminster to Whitehouse. We started using permeable pavers, durable, vehicle-ready surfaces that allow water to drain under the surface to reduce runoff and minimize localized flooding while also contributing back to the ecosystem. We added an abundance of native plantings to soften the hardscape, ornamentals grasses and perennials to bring eye from one element of the space to the next, creating a haven for the local pollinators! The first major hurdle we encountered was the slope of the land and the grading that needed to take place, as well as the natural stone retaining walls that had to be placed to create a solid foundation so nothing would wash out over the years. These walls were expertly crafted by our skilled artisans to seamlessly blend in with the surroundings and to offer a smooth transition between the driveway to garden areas. Our end result is a stunning functional and natural area with a lounge area of custom benches that are set amongst flowering shrubs, forming a lovely place to enjoy the outdoors. Not only does the improve curb appeal, but it also creates a space for the family to gather or simply enjoy time outside. The client was very happy with the result and complimented us on the quality and attention to detail. The folks at Back to Nature Home & Garden have proven with 'Not Just for Cars' that outdoor spaces are not just for function, but form as well, and really, any part of your lot can become a place where you update your carburetorother than parking.
