SUMMARY: University // Natural Wonders Landscaping Natural Wonders Landscaping specializes in the design and creation of breathtaking and functional landscapes that turn outdoor spaces into true works of art. University is a prime example of our approach to quality and out-of-the-box thinking. In the bustling West University Place, this landscaping aimed to enhance the visual and functional characteristics of the outdoor spaces of a university in the locality. The native plants, ornamental grasses and flowering shrubs we used in this were all chosen to thrive in the Texas climateso they all harmoniously fill the planting beds. We incorporated great materials such as permeable pavers for the walkways and a natural stone retaining wall providing structural support whilst adding an organic look to the setting. Drip irrigation systems were incorporated to ensure minimal use of water without compromising on greenery. One of the real obstacles we had to overcome is the small incline that existed, which caused drainage issues and made it difficult for equipment to get in and out. Our team and landscape team carefully re-graded the landscape to create a soft slope for water to run off as well as for ease of walking. We also incorporated several handcrafted wooden benches and shaded pergolas to help combine the sections with areas for students and staff to relax and enjoy each other’s company. The result is a stunning Area that beautifully integrates nature and purpose. This University not only prettifies the campus but also creates a shared experience of nature.
